Flying straight to Nassau after CISA Clinic, I arrived to find a windy forecast dominating the picture here. New Providence Island had cloudy skies yesterday but the sun is out and the breeze is in already at 8am for the tune-up regatta for the Harry Knowles Trophy recognizing one of the Bahamas original Star sailors from a fleet that started here in the early 1930s. Sir Durward Knowles son of the trophy’s namesake and the first Bahamian gold medalist in any sport was here sailing the last couple of days at the young age of 92, but was in a car accident yesterday before I arrived. All the sailors wished him well and a speedy recovery at the event’s opening ceremony last night held by the Nassau YC.
